Originally, most of Favourite’s frames were made from several
short lengths of oak. This simplified the task of finding longer
lengths with the right curve. In order to use wood efficiently,
it also seems likely that that smaller fishing boats were built
at the same time as much larger vessels, so that any off-cuts could
be used.
