Favourite,
F69, looks untouched at the start of rebuilding work on site at
Island Wall, Whitstable. In fact, reconstruction has started from
the inside and the new oak keel can just be seen under the stern.
The keel is made from a piece of straight oak 35 ft (11m) long,
6 inches wide (150mm) and 8 inches deep (200mm). The old
keelson has been saved and stored beside the fence to the right.
The keel and keelson are explained in the diagram below.
