Favourite is part of the street scene in Island Wall, Whitstable. Island Wall is a shingle spit that has protected Whitstable from the sea storms - but not, until recently, from flooding!

Directions:

  • M2 from London (or from Dover)
  • At Brenley Corner (Junction 7)
    take the A299 for Whitstable.
  • Take the A2990 turning and follow signs for Whitstable.
  • Second roundabout, after the Long Reach pub, left for the High Street, about 1 mile.
  • From Thanet, take the turn for Whitstable from the A299 bypass.
  • Check the street map link shown left. There is a small car park in Keems Yard to the north end of Island Wall.
  • But it may be safer to choose one of the larger car parks and walk.
