Supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, we have commissioned colourful information panels on oyster fishing and shipbuilding for the site from John and Tom Cann who comprise the local design and print firm Visualize.

Apart from being a superb artist, John owned the smack William and has dredged for oysters.

Visualize has also assisted in the production of the free leaflet that is available from Whitstable Museum, the WIT and the Horsebridge Centre.

The leaflet gives a summary of the Favourite, oyster dredging and shipbuilding in Whitstable.

Within a few weeks we will publish a new leaflet. This will explain how Favourite sailed, dredged for oysters, anchored etc. This will be a priced publication, with proceeds going to the Favourite Trust.
